ABOUT THE CONFERENCE / 关于会议
The University of Chicago-Peking University’s 2nd Annual International Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Surgery Conference is a forum for exchanging new concepts and techniques in sports medicine by experts from the USA and China. Both the University of Chicago and Peking University have been leaders in the field of orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine for decades. We have collaborated to bring the latest concepts and surgical techniques in sports medicine to Beijing and the rest of China. Last year’s keynote speaker, Head Coach Lang Ping, gave our audience a special look into China Volleyball’s gold medal victory in the 2016 Olympic Games. This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Bruce Reider, Emeritus Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Chicago, Chief Editor of the American Journal of Sports Medicine, and one of the most influential figures globally in the field of Sports Medicine.
第二届北京大学-芝加哥大学国际运动医学与骨科学术研讨会旨在为中美专家提供运动医学新概念和新技术的交流平台。芝加哥大学和北京大学在过去的几十年里一直是骨科与运动医学领域的领军力量。去年，我们联合举办了第一届国际运动医学与骨科学术研讨会，与来自北京乃至全国各地的学员们分享了最新的运动医学技术理念和手术技巧。中国女排主教练郎平在去年作为主旨演讲嘉宾为观众带来了关于2016年女排夺冠的经验分享。今年的主旨嘉宾我们邀请到《美国运动医学杂志》主编Bruce Reider教授，他是芝加哥大学骨科的荣休教授，全球运动医学领域最有影响力的人物之一。

PEKING UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SPORTS MEDICINE
Founded in January 1959, Peking University Institute of Sports Medicine is the first institute of its kind in China, covering the full spectrum of sports medicine and integrating clinical care, education, research, and medical consultancy for national sports teams. It laid the groundwork for the development of sports medicine in China and remains the TOP 1 in clinical and research. Through its efforts, sports medicine was approved as one of the Key Specialty by Ministry of Education in 1989 and Ministry of Health in 2012, selected to be involved in 211 Project in 1995, and became the National Key Discipline in 2001. In 2000, the Institute became the only officially designated Athletic Injury Prevention and Treatment Center by Chinese Olympic Committee and the General Administration of Sports of China. In 2007, it was authorized by the Ministry of Health and China Medical Doctors Association to serve as the largest national arthroscopy training center in China. In Feb. 2009, the continuous progress of the Institute was further acknowledged and it was honored as “Outstanding Innovative Group of the Chang Jiang Scholars and Development Program” by the Ministry of Education, China. In 2013, the research system was honored as Beijing Key Laboratory of Sports Medicine. Currently, the number of annual outpatient visits of our institute has reached over 110,000 with annual arthroscopic surgeries over 7,200. And we are ranked in TOP 200 in Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Sport Science Schools and Departments.

北京大学运动医学研究所成立于1959年，是中国第一家运动医学研究所，设运动创伤、运动康复、运动营养和医务监督四个专业，是国内最早的、唯一的集医疗、教学、科研及下队服务为一体的综合性运动医学研究所，全面开展对运动损伤的防治及运动相关疾病的研究工作，为国家各级运动员、奥运会等体育赛事和全民健身提供高质量的医疗服务和强有力的医疗保障。1989年被国家教委批准为重点学科，同年国家体委授予 “体育事业贡献奖”。1995年成为首批进入211工程的国家级重点建设学科，1999年成为中国奥委会唯一指定的运动员伤病防治中心，2001年成为国家级重点学科，2007年评为首批中国内镜诊疗技术培训基地。2009年入选教育部“长江学者和创新团队发展计划”，2013年成为“北京市重点实验室”。在2017年上海软科全球体育类院系学术排名中，研究所与我国内地3所体育院校一同上榜世界200强。经过近60年的发展，研究所在运动医学各个领域一直处于国际同步、国内领先水平，现年门诊量逾11万余人次，年手术量逾7200例并逐年增长，是目前中国最大的、最具影响力的综合性运动医学研究所。
